Massachusetts AGO Presents New Findings at Health Care Costs Trends Hearings

The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office's recently presented new findings at the annual health care costs trends hearings. This year's examination focused largely on behavioral health and the inconsistent behavioral health insurance coverage. Initial findings include: large variations in the definition of behavioral health among insurers and providers; differences in behavioral health spending reporting methods; and a highly fragmented payment and care coordination environment in Massachusetts. The AGO also reported on the use of tiered network insurance products in the state. Freedman Healthcare assisted the AGO in its examination. Access the full report here
