Ms. Smith is dedicated Project Associate with experience in various fields of public health from academic to governmental. She contributes to Freedman HealthCare’s efforts through project management support and deliverable research. Ms. Smith applies her experience in research methods and creative thinking to apply to project, client and internal research needs. Ms. Smith is currently involved in a variety of project, one specifically on the creation of deliverables in the form of a report for a health insurance survey. She also assists in the development of data sharing agreements for HMIS data with MCOs and AEs. Ms. Smith’s projects span topics such as advocacy and policy change, data cleaning, program management, and qualitative research.
Prior to joining FHC, Ms. Smith worked for the Massachusetts House of Representatives, where she served as the MPH Intern for the Joint Committee on Mental Health, Substance Use and Recovery. She also has experience working with a variety of Academic Institutions in different capacities. Ms. Smith was a Team Lead, Swab Coach and then became a Site Supervisor for the Northeastern University COVID-19 Testing Site supporting the work of over 300 student employees. She worked as a Prevention Educator for Boston University’s Sexual Assault Response and Prevention team where she facilitated discussions and presented on bystander training.
Ms. Smith holds an undergraduate degree in Health Studies with a Health Science track from Siena College and a Master’s in Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health, with a certificate in Health Policy & Law and a context certificate in Human Rights, Social Justice and Health Equity.
